PURPOSE: A device for protecting overload of a scroll compressor is provided to prevent overload by sensing the temperature of a refrigerant compressed and discharged by interaction of a rotary scroll and a fixed scroll and by controlling power supply. CONSTITUTION: A scroll compressor has a fixed scroll(21) and a rotary scroll(25) forming plural compression chambers. A device(72) for protecting overload of the scroll compressor has an OLP(Over Load Protector) mounted to the high-pressure side(P3) to the upper side of the fixed scroll. The OLP measures the temperature of the refrigerant compressed and discharged by the fixed scroll and the rotary scroll and prevents overload by controlling power supply by the measured temperature. The OLP is mounted to a combining groove(71) formed to a high/low pressure separation plate(24) dividing the inner space of a casing(10) into the high-pressure side and the low-pressure side(P1). Thus, reliability of the compressor is improved.
