PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating composition which has excellent storage stability and can form a uniform coating film without fine defects. SOLUTION: The aqueous coating composition comprises (A) a water-soluble, amino group-containing organopolysiloxasne, (B) water, and (C) a surface active agent to be represented by formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, and R<SP>4</SP>are each independently a 1-8C alkyl group; R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>6</SP>, R<SP>7</SP>, and R<SP>8</SP>are each independently, 1-6C alkylene group, and R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>are not the same, and R<SP>7</SP>and R<SP>8</SP>are not same; R<SP>9</SP>and R<SP>10</SP>are each independently a group to be selected from a hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group, and an acyl group; and m, n, x, and y are each a positive number of >0 to≤40 and m+n+x+y is a positive number of >0 to≤40).
