PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor capable of reducing an installation area sufficiently. SOLUTION: Outer peripheral parts of drive wheels 32, 51 and a side frame 5A constituting a main frame 4 are arranged in such a way that mutual vertical projections are overlapped. A handrail drive sprocket 26 is provided on an anti-step side of a main sprocket 14 positioned on the opposite side to the drive wheels 32, 51 to drive a pair of handrail drive devices 25 through an intermediate shaft 28 from the handrail drive sprocket 26.
