PURPOSE: A source driver for LCD is provided to remove a data control unit and reduce a size of a chip by adding a gray voltage selection function to a digital/analog converter. CONSTITUTION: A source driver for LCD includes a data selector(170), a data register(110), a hold register(120), a level shifter(130), a register string(190), a digital/analog converter(140), and an output buffer(150). The data selector is used for selects R, G, and B data from the outside according to an output signal of a mode selector. The data register is used for storing sequentially the data of the data selector according to an output signal of a shifter register. The hold register is used for storing the R, G, and B data in lines according to a load signal. The level shifter is used for shifting levels of the R, G, and B data. The register string is used for generating plural gray voltages. The digital/analog converter is used for controlling the gray voltages and selecting one of the gray voltages. The output buffer is used for providing an output of the digital/analog converter to an LCD panel.
