PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fence, which is built simply, the maintenance such as an inspection, a repair, a cleaning or the like of which is also simplified and which is built on a retaining wall for a road, a bridge for a railway, a banking or the like, and its building method. SOLUTION: A face material 2 is supported between supports 1 disposed in upright on the retaining wall 3, and the fence can be installed only the inside of the retaining wall 3, that is, only one side of the retaining wall 3, by an inclinable state to the inside of the retaining wall 3 by face material itself 2 or the face material 2 together with the supports 1.
