RADIOACTIVE SUBSTANCE CONTAINMENT VESSEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radioactive substance containment vessel capable of improving heat radiating efficiency. SOLUTION: A canister 40 has a basket 41 provided with a plurality of cells 42 as a housing chamber for housing a radioactive substance. Holes (opening parts) 47 and 48 are arranged in a lower part of the basket 41 as a fluid passage for communicating the plurality of cells 42. Since the fluid passage is arranged in the basket lower part, a convection passage of fluid inside of the canister can be secured. Convection is performed in the canister so that local overheat of the radioactive substance can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
