PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized durable antenna for lightning detector easy to manufacture and set capable of precisely detecting the generation or access of lightning by measuring the potential difference between two points in air with time. SOLUTION: This antenna comprises two slender cylindrical detectors 1 and 2 arranged at the tip of a strut 7 at axial intervals. The detectors are made of a conductive material, and the preferable material is a chromium-plated brass pipe or chromium-plated aluminum pipe. The two detectors 1 and 2 are fixed to the tip of the strut 3-4 m from the ground, whereby a small antenna having satisfactory lightning detecting effect can be obtained. The shield film 9 of an insulating shield cable is connected to the lower detector, and the core wire 8 of the cable is connected to the upper detector, and the potentials detected by the detectors 1 and 2 are inputted to a potential difference detecting electronic device.
