PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile member joint element which can easily connect pile members together, and to provide a method for constructing a composite pile. SOLUTION: The pile member joint element 2 axially connects the pile members 1 together, which are press-fitted into the ground upon application of a rotational force thereto, and transmission of the rotational force is achieved by virtue of combination of shapes in a contact surface between each pile member and the joint element. The joint element has an inner shape which is almost the same as the outer shape of the pile member which is formed into a polygon, and it has holes formed in side surfaces thereof, into which rod members 3 for mooring the pile member are inserted. The rod member is arranged in order to axially connect the pile members together via the joint element, but not arranged in order to transmit the rotational force of the pile member.
