PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive spacer for backing of wale capable of simplifying construction and preventing its loss when removing it. SOLUTION: This spacer 1 for backing is arranged between the wale 6 and a soil retaining pile 5. The spacer 1 is constituted by sealing and filling premix concrete 4 in a dry condition into a water permeation bag body 3 provided with a hook part 2 for mounting in one side part. The bag body 3 is hooked and fixed to a side side face of the soil retaining pile 5 of the wale 6 through the hook part, and the premix concrete 4 is hardened by spraying water on the bag body 3.
