PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data communication equipment which can improve the reliability of data communication. SOLUTION: A transmission success/failure decision part 20 decides whether an ACK packet indicating the reception state of a packet is sent back from a transmission-destination node. When the ACK packet is not sent back, a link layer processing part 14 decides whether the frequency of operation for resending the packet to the transmission-destination node is less than a specified number. When the frequency of the resending operation is less than a specified value, a transfer rate change part 22 changes a transfer rate applied to packet transmission to the transmission-destination node to a value less than the current set value.
