APPARATUS FOR DISPLAYING STEREOSCOPIC IMAGE

PURPOSE:An apparatus for displaying a stereoscopic image is provided to easily realize a wide screen stereoscopic image with a wide viewing angle and selectively provide right and left images in a direction according to a position of a viewer. CONSTITUTION:A first projector(2) deflects a right eye image in one direction of major axis and minor axis directions to project the right eye image to a screen(6). A second projector(4) deflects a left eye image in the other direction of major axis and minor axis directions to project the left eye image to the screen. A vertical lenticular lens has a plurality of semi-cylindrical first lenses following the minor axis direction of the screen. An image separating apparatus is arranged next to the vertical lenticular lens, and has a plurality of image separating shutters following the minor axis direction of the screen for selectively transmitting a deflected image in one direction of the major axis and minor axis directions. A horizontal lenticular lens is arranged next to the image separating apparatus and has a plurality of semi-cylindrical second lenses following the major axis direction of the screen.
