PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a magnetic recording medium nearly free from occurrence of a reproduction error and having excellent high density recording characteristics. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording medium having an under coating layer and a magnetic layer provided on one surface of a non-magnetic substrate and a back coating layer provided on the other surface, the magnetic layer and the under coating layer are specified to have≤0.09μm thickness and≤0.9μm thickness, respectively. A radiation curing resin and a thermoplastic resin are incorporated to at least two layers of the under coating layer, the magnetic layer and the back coating layer. The radiation curing resin to be incorporated has two or more double bonds in a molecule and has a weight average molecular weight of 50 to 300 per double bond. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
