PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repeatedly usable water absorptive body. SOLUTION: The water absorptive body is obtained by including water absorbing/discharging polymer 3 in the fibers of a base fabric 2 absorbing and retaining liquid. The polymer has a critical temperature higher than body temperature, absorbs and retains the liquid up to the critical temperature, and loses absorbency and liquid retentivity at a temperature exceeding the critical temperature. A diffusion zone 6 comprising water diffusive fibers is preferably provided in the base fabric 2. Inclusion of the water absorbing/discharging polymer 3 is preferably carried out by a needle punch method. A water permeable face side fabric 12 can be arranged to one surface of the water absorptive body 1, and a water-proof back fabric 13 can be arranged to the other surface of the water absorptive body 1.
