PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an aromatic substituted alkyl ester. SOLUTION: The method for producing an aromatic substituted alkyl ester by an oxidative esterification process for reacting an alkyl-substituted aromatic compound with an aliphatic carboxylic acid and oxygen in the presence of a catalyst, comprises a condition that a reaction mixture obtained by the oxidative esterification process contains an aromatic aldehyde and/or an aromatic carboxylic acid and a process for reducing the aromatic adhesive and/or the aromatic carboxylic acid.
