PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of parts joined by brazing, such as pipe joints, by providing a brazable flake graphite cast iron material. SOLUTION: The flake graphite cast iron material is heat treated in the atmosphere gas obtained by reacting hydrocarbon and air at a high temperature, by which the brazable flake graphite cast iron material is obtained.
