PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a system capable of reducing the network traffic, network transfer time and data processing cost, which are caused by that a user using high-capacity data accumulated on a network such as the Internet transfers high-capacity data through the network. SOLUTION: This data accumulation and processing center in network environment which has been realized by solving the problems by being provided with such mechanisms that a mechanism including a plurality of large-scale data accumulation devices and high-speed data processors dispersively set on the network, which accumulate high-capacity data desired to accumulate by a user in the large-scale data accumulation devices through the network; a mechanism for retrieving high-capacity data desired to use by a user on the network from the large-scale data accumulation device and transferring it to the high-speed data processor; a mechanism for processing the high-capacity data concerned by use of a data processing parameter desired by the user; and a mechanism for transferring the processing result of the high-capacity data concerned to the user.
