PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a solid electrolytic capacitor in which ESR can be reduced while enhancing the capacitance. SOLUTION: An anode foil and a cathode foil having an oxide film layer formed on the surface are wound through a separator employing a compound having a vinyl group as binder to form a capacitor element which is then subjected to restoration formation. It is then heat treated at 150°C-175°C, more preferably at 160°C-170°C, for 5-300 min, more preferably for 30-150 min. Subsequently, the capacitor element is immersed into mixture liquid prepared by mixing polymerizable monomer and an oxidizing agent together with a specified solvent so that polymerization reaction of conductive polymer takes place in the capacitor element thus forming a solid electrolytic layer. The capacitor element is inserted into an enclosure case, a sealing rubber is fixed to the end part of opening, and the case is sealed by caulking before the entirety is subjected to aging thus forming a solid electrolytic capacitor.
