Light logs typically 28-55 mm diameter have notches pressed (23 & 25) into each side that are between 1-2 mm (1.2-1.5 mm) deep across the log. Saw cuts (4 & 5) are made on the top and bottom surfaces of the logs and blocks of wood (6) removed by a cutting blade preferably advanced as the side notches are pressed. The logs are arranged crosswise on each other the cut notches pressing first into each other and then into the pressed notches. An independent claim is also included for the machine to make the notches.
