PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating pretreatment apparatus in which the space is saved by shortening a treatment process, the productivity is improved and the equipment cost, the chemical cost, the management man-hour and the load of waste water treatment are reduced. SOLUTION: The coating pretreatment apparatus is provided with a treatment tank 1 in which a degreasing and chemical conversion liquid is filled, a 1st circulation line 11 for circulating the degreasing and chemical conversion liquid in the treating tank 1 and returning to the treatment tank 1, a dust removing apparatus 2 provided in the circulation line and for removing dust contained in the degreasing and chemical conversion treating liquid, a chemical conversion sludge removing apparatus 3 provided in the circulation line and for removing chemical conversion sludge contained in the degreasing and chemical conversion treating liquid, an oil removing apparatus 4 provided in the circulation line and for removing oil contained in the degreasing and chemical conversion treating liquid, a treating liquid replenishment tank provided in the circulation line and for replenishing the fresh degreasing and chemical conversion treating liquid, a water-polar organic solvent separation apparatus 5 provided in the circulation line and for separating a water portion and a polar organic solvent in the degreasing and chemical conversion treating liquid from each other to return the polar organic solvent to the circulation line, an ion removing apparatus 7 provided in the circulation line and for removing ion components in the water portion separated in the water-polar organic solvent separation apparatus and returning the residual water to the treating liquid replenishment tank 6 and a magnetic field generation apparatus 81 for applying magnetic field to the water separated by the ion removing apparatus 7.
