PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of production for 1-(tert-butoxy-phenyl)-ω- haloalkane which is used as synthetic raw materials for effectively obtaining hydroxyphenylhaloalkane that is considered to be useful as a synthetic intermediate for fields such as a medicine, an agrochemical, a liquid crystal or the like, in high yield and high purity. SOLUTION: The 1-(tert-butoxyphenyl)-ω-haloalkane expressed by general formula (1) is obtained by reacting a dihaloalkane of general formula (3) to a tert-butoxyphenyl magnesium halide of general formula (2) in the presence of a cupper compound.
