PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost demolition method for a tower-like structure, which enables the high-rise tower-like structure to be easily and rapidly demolished even in a laminated working area by using small-sized equipment. SOLUTION: Characteristically, a smokestack 1 is sequentially demolished from a lower part under the support of a jack-down device 3 while being guided and supported by a supporting steel tower 2, and removed by a carrying-in/carrying-out device 4; the smokestack 1 is demolished up to a part below the top of the steel tower 2, and parts from an intermediate part of the steel tower 2 to an uppermost part thereof are sequentially demolished and carried out while the steel tower 2 is supported on the upper part of the remaining smokestack 1 by a pulley 8, etc.; and after that, the remaining smokestack 1 and a lowermost part 2A of the steel tower 2 are demolished and carried out. The smokestack 1 guides the steel tower 2 for supporting the periphery of the smokestack 1, in the middle of demolition, and the steel tower 2 guides the smokestack 1 in the middle of the demolition. Concurrently with that, the smokestack 1 and the steel tower 2 are used as supporting members, so that the high-rise tower-like structure can be safely, easily and rapidly demolished at a low cost even in the limited working area by work near the ground surface through the use of the small-sized equipment.
