PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ridge beam extending method for roof construction work, which is available in the case of adding a building portion to a girder side surface of a house having a roof structure with hip rafter beams for bearing corner rafters, and facilitates extension of the hip rafter beam. SOLUTION: The method is available for a roof truss 1 having the hip rafter beams, such as a hipped roof, and carried out by using a hip rafter beam extending fixture 7 having a purlin bearer connecting portion 18 and a hip rafter beam connecting portion 21. The purlin bearer connecting portion 18 is set on a purlin bearer 6 arranged in the vicinity of an apex 5 of a vertical member 4 at a location below an end of a main ridge 2. The hip rafter beam connecting portion 21 is ascended from one edge 19 of the purlin bearer connecting portion 18 at an angle almost equal to an ascending angleαof the existing hip rafter beam 3. According to the method, the hip rafter beam connecting portion 21 is connected to an end of a new hip rafter beam 8, and the purlin bearer connecting portion 18 is fastened to the purlin bearer 6 by means of a fastener 15, to thereby install the new hip rafter beam 8 along an extension of the existing hip rafter beam 3.
