PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an episulfide compound obtained by the reaction of an epoxide compound for forming an epithio structure in a high yield and high quality and at a low cost while exhibiting less environmental load. SOLUTION: This method for producing the episulfide compound obtained by forming the epithio structure from the epoxy compound is characterized in that the epoxy compound is obtained by passing through an isothiuronium salt formation process in the presence of a cationic ion exchange resin.
