HYDROPEROXYHYDROXYOCTADECANODECANOATE COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING 9-OXONONANOIC ACID DERIVATIVE FROM THE SAME COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an intermediate suitable for production of a 9-oxononanoic acid derivative useful as a perfume raw material, and to provide a method for producing the intermediate and to provide an industrially advantageous method for producing the 9-oxononanoic acid derivative by using an eco-friendly, inexpensive and safe oxidizing agent. SOLUTION: A composition comprising a 9-hydroperoxy-10- hydroxyoctadecanoic acid ester and a 10-hydroperoxy-9-hydroxyoctadecanoic acid ester is produced by oxidizing an oleic acid derivative by using a hydrogen peroxide solution as the oxidizing agent in the presence of a catalyst.
