PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical method for selectively producing a secondary amine through suppressing the formation of byproducts including primary and tertiary amines by reductive intermolecular reaction of two molecules of an oxime or O-substituted compound thereof. SOLUTION: This method for producing the secondary amine comprises reacting the oxime or O-substituted compound thereof with hydrogen in a multiple-phase solvent in the presence of a water-soluble palladium complex having a hydrophilic phosphine compound as ligand.
