PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically evaluate the effect of a design tool in use and to prepare a computer program. SOLUTION: In the design tool evaluating method for evaluating the effect of the design tool employed to develop and design a product, the degree of influence of design alterations corresponding to a stage of making the design alterations of at least one product is predefined as damage, and the difference between damage caused to the product when a 1st design tool is used and damage caused to the product when a 2nd design tool is used is outputted as the effect generated when the 2nd design tool is used.
