PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightning preventing adapter for a power source line, that reduces lightning surge current flowing into an electrical apparatus by accurately drawing lightning surge current which penetrates into the power source line and prevents breaker misoperation. SOLUTION: The adapter comprises a power outlet 1 connected to a power source line; a fuse or a temperature fuse 13 connected in series to one side of the power source line via the power outlet 1; a varistor 3, connected in parallel to the power source line via the fuse or the temperature fuse 13. A capacitor connected, in parallel with the varistor 3, and; a serial-parallel circuit comprising a pair of light-emitting diodes 7, 9 connected in parallel in mutually reverse directions, and a resistance 11 connected in series to the pair of parallel- connected light-emitting diodes 7, 9.
