PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive mixture for an alkaline dry battery with high mold releasability without damaging electrolyte absorbing properties of the positive mixture, high discharge characteristics, the high content of manganese dioxide, and high pefrormance. SOLUTION: The positive mixture for the alkaline dry battery is formed by molding a granular positive mixture containing at least manganese dioxide which is a positive electrode material and a carbon base conductive material, and ethylene-bis-saturated fatty acid amide is added onto the surface of the granular positive mixture in a ratio of 0.02-2.0 mass percent to the manganese dioxide.
