Microbicidal compositions and methods using combinations of propiconazole and N-alkyl heterocycles and salts thereof

Described is a method to increase the effectiveness of a microbicide comprising the steps of applying to the substrate or aqueous system subject to the growth of microorganisms a combination of propiconazole and a potentiator, where the potentiator is present in an amount effective to increase the microbicidal activity of the propiconazole and is at least one N-alkyl heterocyclic compound of the formula shown, where: n is 5 to 17; the heterocyclic ring depicted is a substituted or unsubstituted ring having four to eight members. Also described is a microbicidal composition comprising the components described above.
