PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording apparatus and a magnetic recording medium which can extremely certainly prevent improper use of the contents. SOLUTION: A magnetic recording apparatus 1 which can perform recording/reproducing of various kinds of information is provided with a magnetic disk 10 having a substrate 11, a magnetic layer 12 on the substrate 11 and a heating layer 15 carrying a catalyst 16; an enclosure 2 holding the magnetic disk 10; and a fuel tank 30 which is arranged in the enclosure 2 facing the heating layer 15 of the magnetic disk and stores fuel F which generates heat under the presence of catalyst 16. The device is constituted so that when the enclosure 2 is unsealed, the fuel F is supplied to the heating layer 15 of the magnetic disk 10 from the fuel tank 30. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
