摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift control device and method for preventing a creaking gear in implementing gear-in by engaging a clutch and increasing auxiliary shaft rotation temperature when the auxiliary shaft rotation speed is below a target auxiliary shaft rotation speed. SOLUTION: This device controls a transmission 3 comprising a gear step 18 not having a synchronizing mechanism. When rotation speed of the auxiliary shaft 32 side is higher than that of the main spindle 33 side, the auxiliary shaft 32 is braked by an auxiliary shaft braking means 27 for gear-in. When the auxiliary shaft rotation speed is below the target auxiliary shaft rotation speed, the clutch 2 is engaged and rotation speed of the auxiliary shaft 32 is increased to or above the target auxiliary shaft rotation speed, and then the clutch 2 is operated to be separated, and gear-in is prohibited during a time period of moving of the clutch 2 toward a predetermined position for separation.
