PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated warehouse system which permits a shelf device to be constructed easily, and permits all of articles to be positioned with high workability by means of easy control regardless of a length in a front/rear direction. SOLUTION: This automated warehouse system includes an automated storage and retrieval warehouse 1 formed by the shelf device 11 which forms a plurality of housing areas 14, 14A; a carry-in/out device 20 corresponded to the shelf device 11; and a taking in/out means 15 positioned in front face 11a side of the shelf device 11, and which is capable of delivering articles 150A, 150B between the housing areas 14, 14A of the shelf device 11 and the carry-in/out device 20, and a work part 120 which handles articles 150A, 150B at the outside of a rear face 11b of the shelf device 11. The taking in/out means 15 draws the articles 150A, 150B to the work part 120 side regardless of the lengths LA, LB in the front and rear direction of the articles 150A, 150B when housing the articles 150A, 150B to the housing areas 14, 14A.
