PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin-coated thin plated steel sheet which has excellent adhesion particularly with polyester resin films. SOLUTION: On the surface of an intermediate layer formed on the surface of a steel sheet, a tinning layer is formed so that the intermediate layer is exposed to the surface in an area ratio of≥3.0%. A thermosetting resin layer is formed on the surface of the steel sheet with a chemical conversion film comprising P of 0.5 to 100 mg/m<SP>2</SP>and Si of 0.1 to 250 mg/m<SP>2</SP>formed on the surface exposed part of the intermediate layer and the tinning layer. On the surface of the thermosetting resin layer, a copolymerized polyester resin layer is formed by copolymerizing a dicarboxylic acid component consisting of terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid and a diol component. On the surface of the copolymerized polyester resin layer, a polyester resin layer having orientation properties is formed by polymerizing a dicarboxylic acid component comprising a terephthalic acid of≥97 mol% and a diol component comprising ethylene glycol of≥97 mol%.
