PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device capable of improving rigidity of a distance part while reducing the number of parts and manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: Nipped pressure faces 51, 53 abutting on an inner face of a fixed bracket 3 are formed in nipped pressure parts 25, 27 and a heat treated part 55 is formed in a section including the distance part 29 in an upper column 21. The heat treated part 55 is formed by performing heat treatment in a quenching process due to high frequency and flame and performing heat treatment by similar quenching process and a tempering process in a tempering furnace when tenacity is required.
