METHOD OF COMPENSATING INTEGRATION OF LIGHT BY VERTICAL SHIFT REGISTER IN CHARGE COUPLED DEVICE OF INTERLINE TRANSFER SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to conduct a proper exposure at taking a digital photograph. SOLUTION: A digital camera compares and corrects an exposure measurement to compensate for a charge accumulated in a vertical shift register of an interline transfer CCD (200), originated in a light arriving at a shielded shift register (202). The camera exposes for a short time and then reads contents of the vertical shift register (202) out. The camera is prevented from a usual charge shift from a sensor site on the CCD to the vertical shift register as an option before the camera reads them out. An average digital pixel luminance value is recorded with regard to this trial photographing. The average digital pixel luminance value of the trial photographing is eliminated from a digital pixel luminance value of a light measuring photograph followed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
