METHOD OF TREATING IMPREGNATED MEMBER CONTAINING HALOGENATED AROMATIC COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating a member impregnated with a halogenated aromatic compound comprising a step for very efficiently and quickly extracting the halogenated aromatic compound from the impregnated member with a cleaning solvent and a step for decomposing the same. SOLUTION: The method is used to clean the member containing or impregnated with the halogenated aromatic compound, or the member contaminated with the halogenated aromatic compound. The first step is to extract the halogenated aromatic compound from the member with the cleaning solvent, or to extract the halogenated aromatic compound from the member by breaking micro-capsules filled with the halogenated aromatic compound with the cleaning solvent. The next step is to decompose the halogenated aromatic compound in the resulting cleaning solvent containing the halogenated aromatic compound. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
