PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discoloration prevention material for metals with which, when a metallic product of a metal such as silver, copper and nickel or an alloy thereof is displayed or stored, the discoloration of the metallic product, particularly, caused by a sulfur-containing gas such as sulfur oxide (SOx), mercaptan and hydrogen sulfide can be prevented. SOLUTION: The discoloration prevention material for metals comprises fiber having a closslinking structure, and further comprising a carboxyl group in the molecule. At least a part of the carboxyl group is present as the salt of alkali metal, alkaline-earth metal or ammonia. Also, the fine particles of metal and/or a metallic compound hard to dissolve in water having reactivity with a sulfur-containing compound are dispersed therein. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
