Machine for machining edges having a suction hood

The suction hood (8) around the machine tool unit (4) has an approximately partially cylindrical outer mantle which combines with an inner mantle to form an approximately partially cylindrical ring cavity in between. The ring cavity forms a suction slit next to the tool exit opening in the hood, on the side facing in the opposite direction to the tool rotary direction. A guide coil for shavings leads upwards from this slit to an exit below a suction connection mounted excentrally on an upper cover part of the hood. At least one conveyor (2) is used to transport workpieces through the machine, which contains at least one machine tool unit with an upright spindle (6) having at least one tool (7) mounted on it. In the working position the machine tool unit is surrounded on several sides by a suction hood. The side of the hood facing the conveyor has a tool exit opening. The hood can be raised in order to change tools.
