PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite reality feeling providing device which can execute position alignment, using a real index and a virtual index with any timing. SOLUTION: An HMD device, which generates a composite reality video image by merging a real-space video image and a virtual-space video image together and displays it, is provided with a position sensor for the eyes which measures the position of a viewer's view point/ a viewer's line-of-sight direction. The HMD device sets a conversion parameter, which converts the measuring coordinate system of the position sensor for the eyes to a global coordinate system in a real space and displays a composite real video image, including a virtual space video image generated, by using the conversion parameter on a display device in a normal mode (S530, S505 and S506). In an initial setting mode, the HND device inhibits plotting the virtual space video image thus generated and displays the composite reality video image, including virtual index for setting the conversion parameter on the display device (S530 and S531). Switching such operation modes, such as normal mode and initial setting mode can be executed, based on the user's operation with an optional timing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
