The multiple frequency component signal generator has a beam generator (L), an optical modulator (MOD) and a photodetector (PD). There is a generation mechanism (GEN) from a first beam (F0) of a number of bifrequency beams generating beams towards independent channels of a multichannel modulator mechanism. The amplitude and function of each beam is calculated to provide the overall signal response required.
