PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive, wide-band, and high-sensitivity radio wave receiver by solving a problem in which although radio wave receivers having a Schottky diode mounted on a waveguide, composed of a plane circuit using a semiconductor element, etc., are available before as a radio wave receiver having a frequency band above a 100 GHz band, any one is expensive and not designed while reception of wide-band/high-speed data is not taken into consideration. SOLUTION: A Schottky diode part is constituted by using a ultrahigh frequency material such as InP and GaAs and a plane circuit part is constituted by using a general material such as Si. Transmission lines formed on both those components are fixed by flip-chip bonding so that they are connected to each other, and a dielectric lens is bonded to the plane circuit part while a gap is formed between opposite transmission line parts. The inexpensive, wide-band, and high-sensitivity radio wave receiver is obtained by optimizing the dielectric constant and shape of the lens material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
