PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which effectively utilizes role objects and the like arranged on a game board surface along with a higher flexibility in the configuration of the board surface by expanding the playing area without changing the current size of the game machine. SOLUTION: The playing area is formed on the front of the game board to meet HL/2<H2 in the relationship between the maximum width HL of the playing area and the distance H2 to the upper end of the loosing ball port from the maximum width HL or to meet HL/2<H3 in the relationship between the maximum width HL of the playing area and the section H3 that maintains the maximum width HL downward from the maximum width HL. The shooter and the shot ball path are arranged above the straight line representing the maximum width HL and outside the playing area. Moreover, a failed ball path is installed at a position avoiding the portion between the game ball delivery port for delivering the game balls and the loosing ball port for ejecting the game balls shot outside the playing area. Furthermore, a passage direction changer capable of changing the direction of the downfall of the balls is provided below the straight line representing the maximum width HL and within the playing area. A passage direction changer control means performs a drive control to change the direction of the downfall of the balls toward the prize-winning areas when the given conditions are achieved.
