This invention relates to an article of sports equipment, more particularly a ski wherein, unlike in prior art skis, the bending rigidity decreases with an increase in ski flexing, providing a more equal weight distribution and increased liveliness when negotiating undulating terrain. Described are related embodiments varying from a basic spring arrangement to pre-stressed structures being indistinguishable in appearance from a conventional prior art ski.
