PURPOSE: A tactile interface device is provided to transmit information on the internal state of the vehicle or surrounding condition around the vehicle through tactile sense to a driver intuitively by driving the operating portion. CONSTITUTION: A tactile interface device is composed of a state detecting unit(4) connected to a connecting line(6) installed additionally from the body to detect the state of the vehicle or surrounding condition around the vehicle. The tactile interface device installed in a steering wheel comprises an operating unit(10), a driving unit(20) and a control unit(40). The operating unit has an operating portion(12) operated by a driver. A light emitting unit(16) is attached to the center of a base(14) supporting the operating portion to emit light to the opposite direction of the operating portion.
