PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to improve the characteristics of the address by inserting a discharge and stabilization step before the start of the falling, thereby obtaining the voltage margin stably. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a plasma display panel includes: an erasing step of applying the erase ramp voltage which smoothly rises to the +Ve from the 0 in the sustain electrode; an Y-ramp rising step of applying the ramp voltage which smoothly rises to the voltage Vset being over the discharge start voltage from the voltage Vs below the discharge start voltage Vf for the sustain electrode; an Y-ramp falling step of applying the ramp voltage smoothly falling toward the predetermined voltage from the Vs for the sustain electrode if the Y ramp rising step is finished; and a discharge stabilization step of reducing the bias voltage of the sustain electrode below the Ve during the vertex sustain period of the scan electrode after the Y ramp falling step is finished.
