PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrooptical panel for reducing size and weight of a liquid crystal panel and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A TFT 50 is provided so as to correspond to an intersection of a data line 3 and a scanning line 2. Although a dummy pixel region A1 does not contribute to picture display, an effective pixel region A2 contributes thereto. A discrimination pattern 8 shows the order of the scanning lines 2. In this case, by forming the discrimination pattern 8 in the dummy pixel region A1, the data line 3 is made to be close to a scanning line drive circuit 100 and a picture frame area is reduced.
