METHOD FOR PRODUCING HYDROXYLATED FULLERENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydroxylated fullerene having low water content and resistant to the thermal deterioration of the hydroxylated fullerene. SOLUTION: The hydroxylated fullerene is produced by reacting a fullerene with fuming sulfuric acid, hydrolyzing the reaction product, treating with a basic substance and drying the treated product.
