PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a gas separation membrane unit for increasing output of an engine of an automobile in application other than generation of oxygen enriched air. SOLUTION: This gas separation membrane unit 11 for generating oxygen enriched air and nitrogen enriched air from air by gas separation and storing many hollow threads in a cylindrical shell is attached to a vehicle body as a front bumper beam 35, a rear bumper beam 36, a front door beam 39 or a rear door beam 40 to let it function as a collision countermeasure member of the automobile. Moreover, the gas separation membrane unit 11 is attached along a side frame 13 to let it function as the collision countermeasure member. If the nitrogen enriched air exhausted by the gas separation membrane unit 11 is filled into a front door 37 and a rear door 38 which are substantially sealed vehicle body constituent members, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of rust and fire.
