PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a change in the hue of an image after the completion of recording by allowing pixels, which are mutually different in the color overlap order of inks to be adjacent to each other by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This ink jet printer is equipped with four recording heads 5-8 for discharging inks having respective process colors, that is, yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C) and black (K). Intervals corresponding to three pixels are provided between the nozzles 5a-8a of the respective recording heads 5-8. For example, the nozzles 6a-8a of three recording heads 6-8 are respectively arranged at positions deviated from each other by one pixel along the feed direction A of a recording medium with respect to the respective nozzles 5a of the recording head 5 so that the nozzles 6a-8a of three recording heads 6-8 are respectively housed in the interval corresponding to three pixels provided between the nozzles 5a of the recording head 5.
