PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive ink tank and an inexpensive ink jet head cartridge both of which are mounted on a printer after a packaging material is opened, does not stain a hand/finger or the like in physical distribution or in the operation at the time of mounting of a printer after an environmental change and has high reliability. SOLUTION: Each of the ink housing parts of the ink tank and the ink jet head cartridge is constituted of at least ink, an ink holding member for housing the ink, a casing for housing the ink holding member and a lid having an atmosphere communication part. When the lid is constituted of an injection molded plastic resin, the weld line continuously formed from the opening part on the ink holding member of the inner peripheral surface of the atmosphere communication port provided to the lid to an opening part on an atmosphere side is not present.
